Planning Commission Public Hearings April 17, 2024 at 7:00 pm
The Planning Commission will receive comments on two special use applications for home based businesses. One is from Ken Schneider to offer outdoor education classes to homeschooled students at 11344 Pryor Rd, Portland. The second is from Baron Seal to offer car detailing with interior and exterior cleaning to be located at 7625 Grand River Trails, Portland. Master Plan Update
The Planning Commission has updated the Master Plan and a draft is available for review in the link below. A public hearing will be held at their April 17, 2024 meeting starting at 7:00 pm at the Township Hall. Comments or questions may be emailed to: mhoppes.danbyzoning@gmail.com

Recycling is available at various locations (no longer shared with Portland Township). See links below but check first as hours and days of the week change with the seasons.

NEW ZONING ADMINISTRATOR
Mitchel Hoppes is the new Zoning Administrator (January 2024) who issues zoning permits and coordinates other zoning applications with the Planning Commission and Township Board. His contact information is below:

Spring Community Cleanup Day
The annual cleanup day will be Saturday, May 4 at the DPW compound at 451 Morse Dr Portland from 7:00 am to Noon. The hazardous waste cleanup will also be held there the same day and time. Click on "Cleanup Day Info" below for all the information.
NEW ONLINE OPTION TO PAY TAXES
Danby Township residents can now pay their taxes online by clicking on the link below. You can also mail your taxes to PO Box 566, Portland MI 48875, or use the drop box at the Township Hall.

Current winter taxes are due February 14 to pay without penalty. They can be paid after that to the Township Treasurer through February 29 and any unpaid taxes after March 1 must be paid at the County Treasurer's office.
The Township Treasurer will be at the Township Hall to collect taxes between 9 am to 5 pm on February 14 and February 29.
